PCOD or Polycystic ovary disease is a women-specific condition that throws her hormone levels out of balance by attacking the ovaries, the pair of reproductive organs that produce estrogen and progesterone hormones. PCOD leads to the production of excessive male hormones, which in turn makes it difficult for women to achieve pregnancy and also leads to frequent skipping of the natural menstrual cycle.
